Who Am I
Hey there! I'm Priscilla Council, and I really appreciate you checking out my portfolio. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. As I mentioned on my homepage, I'm currently studying in the School Counseling program at Grand Canyon University, aiming to become a Professional School Counselor. Curious about how I got to this point?
I grew up in a small town called White Oak in North Carolina, surrounded by my parents and siblings. My grandparents, aunts, and uncles lived nearby. I kicked off my education at Plain View Primary (grades K-5), then moved on to Tar Heel Middle High School (grades 6-12). I graduated from West Bladen High School after the county built a new high school in 2001. In 2003, I enrolled at Louisburg College and earned an Associate's Degree in General Education.
After that, I took a break during which I opened a daycare and started working at Tar Heel Middle School. I began as the ISS Coordinator, then became the receptionist, and two years later, I took on the role of Data Manager and Bookkeeper. I later returned to school at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where I earned a BA in Sociology. Now, I'm pursuing my master's in School Counseling from Grand Canyon University, aiming to finish by 2026. I truly believe that School Counseling is part of my purpose and calling. It brings me immense joy to know that I can make a positive impact on students, parents, staff, administration, and stakeholders by collaborating to create a safe environment that emphasizes the importance of attendance, social and emotional well-being, mental health, and career readiness.
